Scream of Discontent

My soul screams
agitated, miserable
mine eyes itch
wanting to tear them out
body jumpy, twitching
discomfort, aching
emotions pulling
misdirected, unknown to me
mind and body
unbalanced, internal struggle
lost in the past
oblivious of present
uncertain of a future
to the point of asking why
just to find no answers

losing control, emotional wreak
clouded judgement, anger

sad realization of things past
a life changed, a life hurt
no redemption, no apologies

broken, beaten and defeated
try to find a smile
only to find a dead spot

black and endless
where to go from here
aimless, wandering, lost

try to dig out substance
only to reach into endless dark
finding only nothingness
